As a result of The Climate Change Risk and Impact Assessment for Kent and Medway published (here) this summer, Kent County Council, with the support of Royal HaskoningDHV, is leading on developing an Adaptation Programme and Implementation Plan for the county.

Climate change is already affecting our region, and adapting to its accelerating effects, such as warmer, wetter winters, hotter, drier summers and more frequent severe weather events, is crucial for future prosperity, environmental quality, and the health and well-being of our communities. Understanding how different sectors within Kent and Medway are experiencing the impacts of climate change, the risks they face, and the adaptation action that needs to be taken is vital to make the county resilient to climate change.

In order to gain better understanding of what is currently being done, where the gaps are and what opportunities adaptation could bring, Royal HaskoningDHV has designed a questionnaire as the first step in capturing this information. We would greatly appreciate you taking the time to complete it on behalf of the organisation and sectors you work in or represent. It should take about 15-20 minutes to complete. You can resubmit the survey multiple times, if required, for different sectors/organisations.

The link to the survey is: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/95HLHRB

It is important to submit your responses by the deadline of 15 January 2021 so that we can continue with the next stages of engagement and developing the programme and plan with you. In addition, please forward this to anyone you think would like to participate in this work.

The responses you provide will make a major contribution to the successful development of the Adaptation Programme and Implementation Plan and the future resilience of our region. Thank you and we look forward to working with you on this more in the new year.
